Hi, I just bought a notebook with Windows7 on it but I am unable to use any of my photos as a wallpaper: when I click on a single with the proper part of the mouse the normal window opens but the “use as a wallpaper” alternative is not there…I also tried to click on the desktop and do it from there but to no avail, it exhibits ALL my pics on rotation, as a screensaver OR I can chose from screensavers currently installed in the notebook, no mention of wallpapers..is this regular or am I missing one thing??? Thank You for ANY word of advice!

hmmm…guys, I recognize what you happen to be saying but I cannot see what kind of Windows7 I have, or if it’s 32 or 64 Bit, I tried…cannot find it ANYHERE, not even the instruction booklet (?)

What version of Windows 7? There is like eight of them. Simple? 32bit? 64bit? Premium?
That’s information I need to have. I dont feel you can transform the wallpaper on Fundamental from what I’ve heard. ( The lowest level upgrade)

Exactly where does Windows XP store desktop backgrounds?

XP has a genuinely nice feature in which you can right-click on an image and say “Set as Desktop Background”.

But what about when you want to get at that image once again. It might have been an image from the net, or 1 from your pc that you have because deleted (or cant don’t forget where you place it).

Windows clearly nonetheless has a copy – but wherever does it maintain it?

When I want adjust XP backgrounds, I click on desktop near the toolbar and when popup comes hit properties and search or browse backgrounds, I also use Picaso and have photographs stored there that come up for desktop backgrounds…rather than use screens, background from net and you don’t know exactly where they come from…I am often afraid of spyware embedded in those.
